Memorial Day

A day to remember all those who have lost their lives fighting for our freedom, to pray for all those who are still fighting for our freedom, and to remember loved ones that have passed on. THANK YOU to all the men and women that are fighting for and have fought for our country!! Without your sacrifice who knows where we would be today!! GOD BLESS each and every one of you for all are doing and have done!
Thinking about loved ones that have passed away is so sad, I wish that all my loved ones would have been able to meet Kevin and Kaitlyn. I know they are all watching over us from heaven and are with us through each step of our lives, and that is comforting to me.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day, remember during your days of cookouts, family, and fun to stop and say a prayer for all of our soldiers that are fighting for our freedoms, and remember all the soldiers that have fallen, and thank God for taking care of our loved ones that have passed before us.
May God bless each and every one of you!!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

First of all I want to wish my Mom a Very Happy Mother's Day!! Then I also want to wish Miranda a Happy Mother's Day, this is her first mother's day as a mommy of two, and I also want to wish Nicole a Happy Mother's Day as well, since this is her first mother's day!
I hope that all Mommies out there have a wonderful Mother's Day! With each year that Kaitlyn and I have been together I feel even more close to my own Mom as we have shared quite a bit of what raising a child has in store. I really feel that the older Kaitlyn gets, the closer I will feel to my Mom!!
I am so very blessed to have such a wonderful Mom, and Kaitlyn is so very blessed to have a Mommy, "Mama", "Gammie", and "Mamaw" that all love her so very much!!

*Thank you Kaitlyn for making Mommy the happiest Mommy in the world!!*

Hello Everyone.....

I just thought I would update everyone on what is going on with us. Kaitlyn is growing up so fast, she knows her ABC's, and can identify her letters, she can count to 25 only missing 1 or 2 along the way, she is very observant and notice the smallest of details, she is looking and talking like such a big girl, and she loves to help me do dishes, clean, and cook dinner. Kevin just celebrated his second year at Lowe's, he continues to be way happier at Lowe's than he ever was at Burger King, he is a wonderful Daddy to Kaitlyn, and a wonderful husband to me. Then there is me, I work hard everyday to be the best Mommy and wife I can be, I am trying so hard to lose weight, I am enjoying the time I spend at home with Kaitlyn, and I am so thankful for all the blessings that I have in my life!! I have come the realization lately that I am a very simple person, I am no where near high maintenance. As long as I have Kevin and Kaitlyn, the love of my family and friends, and the overwhelming love of God, everything else is extra, and that makes me the luckiest person in the world!!

Great Weekends, and Old Friends

Here is to great weekends, and old friends! The weather, the time spent with family, dinner with old friends, everything was fantastic this weekend!! I am so grateful for the days that I can take Kaitlyn outside to play. The 70 degree weather was a much needed break from the cold. We got to see baby Chase and how much he has grown since Christmas, and on Sunday we got to have dinner with old friends! Amy and I have been friends since we met in the 5th grade, and now that we are all grown-up, and married with families of our own, we still find time to see how each other doing. We both have three year old little girls, that get along as well as their Mommies do. I hope that Kacey and Kaitlyn grow up to be as good of friends as their mommies are!!! Glenn and Amy also have a little boy Adam who is one of the smartest kids I have ever met in my life!! I couldn't tell you how much pizza everyone ate, but Adam could tell you how much pizza everyone ate and how many cups of pop they drank!! He is amazing!!
I hope everyone had a GREAT weekend!

So True.......

As a mom myself I know all of the wonderful yet life changing events that come along with the birth of a child. I have received this poem in several emails and read it here or there a few times and I wanted to share it with everyone. I hope you all enjoy it.

Before I was a Mom,

I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,

I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom .
