Great Weekends, and Old Friends

Here is to great weekends, and old friends! The weather, the time spent with family, dinner with old friends, everything was fantastic this weekend!! I am so grateful for the days that I can take Kaitlyn outside to play. The 70 degree weather was a much needed break from the cold. We got to see baby Chase and how much he has grown since Christmas, and on Sunday we got to have dinner with old friends! Amy and I have been friends since we met in the 5th grade, and now that we are all grown-up, and married with families of our own, we still find time to see how each other doing. We both have three year old little girls, that get along as well as their Mommies do. I hope that Kacey and Kaitlyn grow up to be as good of friends as their mommies are!!! Glenn and Amy also have a little boy Adam who is one of the smartest kids I have ever met in my life!! I couldn't tell you how much pizza everyone ate, but Adam could tell you how much pizza everyone ate and how many cups of pop they drank!! He is amazing!!
I hope everyone had a GREAT weekend!

So True.......

As a mom myself I know all of the wonderful yet life changing events that come along with the birth of a child. I have received this poem in several emails and read it here or there a few times and I wanted to share it with everyone. I hope you all enjoy it.

Before I was a Mom,

I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,

I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom .

Such A Big Girl

Look At Me I'm Three

Our Pride and Joy

Kaitlyn is such an active 3 year old. Kaitlyn loves to play with play-doh, do jigsaw puzzles, build with blocks, color, use her imagination, and she loves to dance. I thought I would share a couple pictures of Kaitlyn "dancing".

My Love..........

With Valentine's Day coming up on Saturday, I thought I would share a little about my Valentine. Kevin and I will be married for 12 years this July 5th (now days we should get some kind of award). Kevin is a loving, caring, sweet, strong, hardworking, dedicated, trustworthy, honest, and passionate man. He is a wonderful husband, and a terrific daddy. I have always loved Kevin, but as days pass I find myself loving him even more. I still get excited when the phone rings and I know it is Kevin calling, my heart still skips a beat when his car pulls up, because I get to see him, and nothing makes me feel safe and loved more than the sound of his voice. Kevin provides us with so much and he works so hard for us, and I am grateful to him everyday for all that he does for our family. I Love You is something we say probably 10 times a day or more, and knowing that every time we say it we mean it is such a wonderful feeling. Knowing that I have someone in my life that loves me as much as I love them is overwhelming yet amazing. Kevin and I have shared a lot in our lives together, some good and some bad, but we always come through every situation better and stronger than ever. Kaitlyn is our greatest accomplishment, she is the living picture of how much Kevin and I love each other. I am so grateful to have Kevin and Kaitlyn in my life, and I thank God everyday for bringing them to me! So, on this Valentine's Day tell the loves of your life how much you love them and what they mean to you! Happy Valentine's Day Kevin! I Love You more than I could ever say!!
